1. Which committees do the MilanMUN Rules of Procedure apply to?
The MilanMUN Rules of Procedure apply to all committees and forums at the MilanMUN Conference, except for the Security Council. This includes:

2. Where can I find information on the topics to be discussed at the conference?
The agenda, including a list of topics to be discussed in each committee, will be published on the MilanMUN website. Additionally, each topic will have a corresponding background paper, written by one of the committee chairs, to aid delegates in their research.
3. What are the duties of the Secretariat?
The Secretariat, appointed by the Directors of the MilanMUN Conference, is responsible for:
Coordinating the Chairing Team with the President of the General Assembly
Chairing the General Assembly with the President of the General Assembly
Presiding over the Opening and Closing Ceremonies
Redacting the background paper for the General Assembly
Declaring crisis situations if necessary
Addressing and resolving any issues during the conference, in consultation with the President of the General Assembly and under the authority of the Directors of MilanMUN
4. What are the responsibilities of the Chairs in each committee?
Each committee has a team of three chairs appointed by the Directors of the MilanMUN Conference. Their responsibilities include:
Chairing their respective committee sessions
Writing a background paper on one of the topics to be discussed in their committee
Handling any issues arising during the committee sessions, under the authority of the Secretariat, President of the General Assembly, and Directors of MilanMUN
5. What is the method of debate in the General Assembly and other committees?
The General Assembly follows a clause-by-clause debate procedure. Other committees, such as ECOSOC, SPECPOL, and the Environmental Committee, utilize a standard debate format.
6. What happens if a vote results in a tie?
In the event of a tie, the proposal under consideration is rejected.
7. Can financial amounts be included in resolutions?
Resolutions can only include financial amounts if they are being debated in the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
8. Can delegates propose new points or motions not listed in the official list?
No, both the General Assembly and committees will only consider points and motions included in the Official MilanMUN Conference Points and Motions List.
